  • How much grass seed should I put down?

Based on our professional experience, we suggest putting 200 to 300 pounds of grass seed down for a fresh or bare lawn, and roughly 100 to 200 pounds of grass seed for an existing lawn (per acre). If you need to purchase garden seeds for your lawn and landscaping, turn to Clark Seeds Inc.

  • When should I put down fertilizer?

According to our experts, pre-emergent should go down before St. Patrick's Day, and post-emergent/lockup should go down in late April or early May. After that, we recommend a mid-summer treatment. If you can irrigate by late June or early July, we recommend a 2405. By mid-September, you'll want to do a starter fertilizer with your grass seed. Lastly, in early November, you'll want to do a winterizer (2405). To purchase fertilizer or speak with our experts, visit our landscape supply store today!

  • Do you do certified custom seed mixes?

Yes, we do! Each one is different, and we can customize a mix for you. We do government mixes, lawn mixes, CRP mixes, and more. We can also customize the amount based on your needs. According to Today's Homeowner, the average size of a garden is around 600 square feet. If you're looking to enhance your lawn and garden, we're here to help.
